TP-LINK TL-WR740N 150Mbps Wireless N Router is an excellent budget router manufactured by TP-Link.It is very much affordable router for home purpose usage with a budget about ₹1000 - ₹1200 approx.At first let’s have a look on some important specifications.

Ø Pros –

Easy installation – It comes with a installation CD.Just run the CD  & it takes only 5 minutes to install & configure.You can also configure it manually.

Decent Range-  The range of this router is pretty good.I have tested it in a 3 BHK house over 2000 sq ft area & it works like a charm ! I’m getting good signal strength in every room although the signal drops a bit when there is 2 or 3 walls between router & the device.Range is quite satisfactory for home & small office usage.

Temperature- There is no temperature issues in this router.After 6-7 hours continuous usage the temperature still remains normal.

Power requirements – The power requirement of this router is quite low.It requires  only 9V DC / 0.6Amp power.

Connectivity –  You can connect 4 LAN devices & unlimited no of wifi devices simultaneously.

Price – it is damn cheap.It costs only ₹1000 - ₹1200 approx. At this price range ,You can’t get a better router than this.

Ø Cons –

Actually i didn't find any cons in this router.It gives excellent performance for home usage. Although i have noticed that there some lag in streaming HD videos if there is a brick wall in-between your PC /laptop/phone/ and router.But of course you can’t expect more than this at this price range.

v  If u get any problem accessing a few sites like nokia official site,yahoo etc..then reduce the mtu size by 20 or 40.To change the Mtu size go to 192.168.0.1 default username and password is admin.Then go to network ->WAN ->Advanced->mtu size -reduce it by 20 or 40(default size is 1480.I have changed it to 1460 & it worked for me)

Note-  

Plz note that this is only a wifi router & it does not contain any modem with it.U need a modem to connect it to the Internet .Just connect it with your existing modem ,run the set up CD provided with it & Enjoy the Wifi...:)..Soon I will be posting a tutorial to let you know how to configure it manually.And oh, i almost forgot to tell u... it comes only in white color.
